Kelly Clarkson was an American artist and songwriter who was the American sweetheart after she won American Idol in the first series. The win not only catapulted her to fame, but also earned her a multi-album recording contract with RCA Records 19 Recordings and 'S Records. Since then she has released many studio albums, including three that reached the top of the US Billboard 200' chart and the rest of her albums just fell short of the top spot. She is among the most well-known artists that have emerged from American Idol. When she was successful, she tried out different themes and music styles often writing her own songs of her own feelings. For her uniqueness and vocal ability, she was awarded praise from the public as well as numerous prizes. In particular, she's won the Grammy Award three times. In addition to her musical profession, she has also had a stint in TV and film. River Rose and the Magical Lullaby, a children's story she wrote to her daughter.
